Ashwagandha (withania somnifera) or “Indian ginseng”, is an herb that is extensively used in Ayurveda, the traditional health care system in India for over 3000 years. Ashwagandha is used as a general tonic and adaptogen for a wide range of health issues. An adaptogen is a substance said to increase the body’s ability to withstand stress of all types.
